The Earth, as we know it, is gone. Darkness has enveloped it for the last hundred years, and many species have died out. New ones have risen to take their places, adapting to the world that is now void of light.
The struggle to survive is a hard one, and no one has quite been able to figure out why the light is gone, though the heat and atmosphere remain. Even top scientists struggle with this. But more pressing is the urge... the need to survive.
For in that darkness, something lurks. None are quite sure if these beings... these creatures were there before, or if they are simply adapted forms of once familiar animals. Add to that humans who aren't quite human any more, and viruses that sweep across the face of the globe like wildfire, and the earth has become a dangerous place....
